[Solved] Any help for speed of 2.4 on the way?

Post by Gkome »

Hello,

I am finding version 2.4 (though potentially really a great improvement) incredibly slow on my mac, with OS 10.4.11 on a 450 MHz processor, even though I have over a gig of ram, and no overly serious speed problems with any of my other power hungry apps, including photoshop, etc. Does anyone know if help on the way, or is this no longer an issue (perhaps no one is concerned with making this functional on older processors)?

[Thanks to Hagar, see below, I did find 2.3 which I had thrown out]

Thanks so much for any suggestions.

Very best wishes to all,
George

Re: download version 2.3 again, or get help for speed of 2.4?

Try on the mirrors: http://distribution.openoffice.org/mirrors/#mirrors.

Thanks to add '[Solved]' at beginning of your first post title (edit button) if your issue has been fixed.

NB: moved your thread to the Mac forum.
LibreOffice 25.2 on Linux Mint Debian Edition (LMDE 7 Gigi) and 25.2 portable on Windows 11.

I wouldn't say the issue is solved for 2.4. Rather, that I have given up for now and gone back to 2.3. That is why I had not typed in the "solved" on my own. I see that you may have done it for me.
You did of course, save me a great deal of trouble by pointing the way to find another copy of 2.3.
Thanks again for that help.

Still hoping for a usable 2.4 or 3.0 for my older G4 mac.
