Unable to install OpenOffice 3.4.1 in Windows 7

Post by marieluisehorne »

Please help! I have downloaded the the Open Office file but cannot install it.

I am receiving the following message:

'Installer Integrity check has failed. Common causes include incomplete download and damaged media. Contact the installer's author to obtain a new copy.

More information at:

http://nsis.sf.net/Nsis_Error'

I have tried downloading the document several times.

Did you download from here http://www.openoffice.org/download/? This is the official link. Otherwise, delete the download and download a fresh copy from the link I posted.

The test for the integrity of the download is to check its MD5Sum. Details are at
http://www.openoffice.org/download/chec ... html#howto

It is unusual but not unknown to have a corrupt download. Sometimes Windows gives incorrect error messages; if there s a four digit error code, that is useful for sorting the problem.

The NSIS 'error' message is a failing to download a full copy of the file.(ie server reset, bad internet connection etc)
Were you trying to download a portable version?
The portable versions of AOO/LO use NSIS as the installer, which is why I asked.
OpenOfficePortable is still at v3.3.0 and has not been updated since.
The portable apps guys/gals are awaiting the approval of Apache to enable them to release a portable
version of AOO, but, that maybe held back until the release of v4.0.0. LibreOfficePortable is at v 3.6.0

Re-download AOOv 3.4.1 from the link at the bottom of this page.
