[Solved] Open form to new record

Post by sanderja »

I want to be able to open a form in Base so that I am on the next available record. When I open the form now it always stops on the first record. We are using the database to enter service call requests so every time we open the database form we want to be on the next blank record so we can start entering the information. Is there a way to do this in Base? We can do it in Access. I am using Windows XP and Open Office 2.4

Form properties, tab "Data", property "Add data only".

Thank you for your post. That does work but now it will not allow me to go back and look at records that were previously entered through the form. I can look in the table but it would be easier to just go back a few records to see what was entered or to edit what was entered. I think this is accomplished with a switchboard in MS. I noticed there is no switchboard in Open Office. Is there another setting that would take me to a blank record when I open the database but then allow me to go back to previous records through the form screen?
Thanks for any help!!!!

I tried this type of form with a grid control (a form control comprising other controls in columns and rows). It piles up the newly entered records of this session.
