Open Office.org 3.0 beta and Java Runtime

Hi
It is my first time on this forum so I hope I am in the right place.
Having used version 2.4 for some time I have downloaded version 3.0 Beta. I backed out of the installation process when it attempted to install Java Runtime Environment 1.6.0 update 5 on my system as I have already deleted this version and replaced it with version 1.6.0 update 6. I do not really want to have both versions unless it can be avoided.
Is there a workaround for this or must I allow it to reinstall the 1.6.0 update5 version?

When installing OOo 3.0 beta, choose a custom installation and uncheck Java.
