All of a sudden OO will not save my work

I need some help trying to solve this new issue that I am having with my work when I am ready to save it I click on the save icon and nothing happens. I click on file and go to save and nothing happens. I click on file and go to save as and nothing happens. What is going on here that all of a sudden my work can not be saved?
I defragmented my drive and that has not helped. I have 86% free space on my hard drive, so that would seem to be sufficient. Is there something else I need to check or do?

Your problem reminds me a similar problem when people having a tool that automatically removed some temporary files before saving their work and who could not save anymore. Have you tried to do a File > Save As under another name?

It sounds like OOo is broken somehow. Do the menus work at all? What about other functions?

One thing to check is that OOo has not popped-up the file dialog underneath another window. Try minimizing the other application windows and see if you can find the file dialog.

Are these new files you've created or files you've opened and edited? If the latter, there may be some permissions problem.

Are the 'Save' and 'Save As' commands disabled (i.e. greyed out) on your system or are they merely unresponsive?

I am having similar problems with 3.0 Beta. I'm running Vista32 (no service pack).

When I try to save either through File > Save As, File > Save, or Ctrl+S, the entire program freezes. It happens whether it's a new file, or existing file opened and edited. I created the original files so no permissions should be an issue. I can still edit and save properly with 2.4. I've also tried reinstalling the program, to no avail.

I also uninstalled and deleted program directories of the versions 2.4 & 3.0 and did a clean re-install of 3.0 Beta. Still nothing. The commands are not greyed-out. They appear active, but do not function.

So far to date, I have not been able to save anything in 3.0.
