[Solved] Fatal Error

Keep getting (even after uninstall/reinstall) OpenOffice.org 3.4.1 Fatal Error The application cannot be started. com.sun.star.deployment.DeploymentException: Start tag expected, "<" not found Line:1 Column:1

Advice on what to do please. Thanks very much.

Was your reinstall from the same download copy? Possibly that copy is corrupt and you should download a fresh copy. Befor doing that, try deleteing your User Profile; details are at

An uninstall/reinstall does _not_ change the user profile; on rare occasions the initial profile can be corrrupt. Deleteing it forces OpenOffice to make a new one (hopefuly correct!) on next startup.

Have you downloaded the installer from the official website? See link bottom right of this page.

This sounds like a major installation problem. Any security application that could prevent AOO from installing correctly?
LibreOffice 25.2 on Linux Mint Debian Edition (LMDE Faye) and 24.8 portable on Windows 11.
