Selecting Personal Dictionary path

Post by vincent.steinier »

I'm looking for a way to store my Personal Dictionary on a network share.
In OOo versions up to 2.0.2 you were able to manually select this path using Tools/Options/OpenOffice.org/Paths/User-Defined dictionaries, but from version 2.0.3 on this feature disappered.
I tried the 3.0 beta and the feature is back.
Any idea how to configure version 2.4 for this setup ?

Thank you

I've never used it but the tool seems to be Tools >Options >Language Settings >Writing Aids : New.
Apache OpenOffice 4.1.12 on Linux

This does not ask you where to store the new dictionary, it will save it to the default local path, I need to select the path manually to share this dictionnary with other users.

Perhaps tweaking the configuration files. See what is the file modified by 3.0 and try to do the same for the 2.4 configuration file.
LibreOffice 25.2 on Linux Mint Debian Edition (LMDE 7 Gigi) and 24.8 portable on Windows 11.

Notice the time you change the setting and close OOo completely (including Quickstarter), then can you spot the files modified after the time you save minus 1 minute for example? When I do that, there are no so many files detected.

NB: to search with the time stamp, I use PowerDesk Pro 6, it's free.
