Spellchecker *imprecise*

Post by Rosa500 »

Hello,

i have question, why works the spellchecker not correct?

If i type in "grosseres" the Writer is meaning -> "krosseres". That is wrong.

Only google can correct me?
http://www.google.de/search?q=grosseres

Can you fix the bug?

You give very little information. Please consult the Forum survival guide.

Re your question: the hints for German are apparently selected by a rather strict algorithm. Maybe it's too strict, but the rules for Dutch are way too lenient, resulting in loads of suggestions that are so far off that they're really useless.
Not even groseres is linked to größeres, so apparently you can't have more than two typos in a single word or so. That's harsh.

I'd like you to hit the edit button and edit the subject line of your first post to correct the spelling of 'broken". If my explanation satisfies you, you can also add [Solved] to that line.

This is an English language forum. The least you could have told was that it's a problem with the German spell checker (you might add German, Austria, Swiss etc.). For harder questions it helps if you tell what version you use and what OS it runs in. The people here also appreciate it if you tell whether the replies helped you. 8-)
