Spell check no longer works after upgrade

Hello,
The French spell checker doesn't work (it use to work with older versions) The dictionary seems unavailable and the double right click to correct spelling doesn't work. It automatically opens a dialogue box where proposed words are nonsensical. I have been using Open Office for 10 years and never had such problems. I have been struggling for the last 2 months and URGENTLY need help. Thank you!

Have you checked the tutorial: [Troubleshooting] Spell check in OpenOffice 3.x?
If no change, try yo reset your OpenOffice user profile.

Do you still use 3.1 as mentioned in your forum signature? Haven't you installed 3.4.1?

Thank you so much for your reply. I will try to do as you say. I installed several versions of Open Office 3.1 and 3.4.1 in several languages, the french spell check is out of order in all versions.

The best advice anyone can give is that you print out the tutorial and follow it strictly, step by step. I know you have tried the tutorial before, but there must be some little thing you have missed out, an are consistently missing out. Spellcheck works perfectly for me in UK English on nine computers and four operating systems.
