[Off topic] Desktop icon troubles

Post by CATMANDU57 »

I recently changed the size of my desktop icons by chosing the "larger" size option through the control panel>disply tab.

Now, half of my icons are fine, but the other half no longer show the customized icons that had been selected for them. Even going back and attempting to change the icons back to what I had selected for them does nothing. The icons that I am having problems with refuse to be changed away from the genric Microsoft ico. These are shortcut icons, internet linked icons, and some program icons too. The strange thing is that a random selction of half of my desktop icons are find. I have even tried deleting the icons that are a problem and re establishing them without any success.

Any ideas? :?:

Plenty of ideas, but how is this related to Open Office?

Perhaps I do not understand what the domai of Open Office is. If I am looking in the wrong location for suggestions, I would very much appreciate a nudge in the right direction.

Thank You

Open Office is a set of programs called Calc, Writer and Impress that are quite similar to Microsoft's Excel, Word and PowerPoint. The best thing is these programs are totally free. Go to http://www.openoffice.org/ for more info.
