"Sheet" function in Writer

Post by Lainy777 »

When writing documents it would be invaluable to have a function in Writer similar to the Sheet function in Calc, where related page of the document could be added and easily accessible with one click. Say your document is titled, "Weather Catastrophes". Rather than scrolling through pages and pages of a document as new information is found, an easily accessible sheet titled 'Tornado", another titled "Tsunami", and another titled "Earthquake" etc., would make editing and reading so much easier. Then at the end of editing these separate sheets could still easily be cut and paste into one continuous document with page breaks if needed for printing.

Insert a section and move quickly to each section with Navigator (F5)

Yep, the Navigator is your answer.

Enter a topic title, say "Sponge Migrations", and apply the paragraph style "Heading 1".

Then look under "Headings" in the Navigator: you can double-click to jump right to that page.

If you want each topic to start a new page, modify the "Heading 1" style to include a page break and you're all set.
