[Solved] Ubuntu 12.04 update menus error

I got almost all the way through installation without errors but I since I have little experience with installations I'm stopping right where I am and asking for direction. Here is where I am:

Hi and welcome to the forum!

You've to remove the LibO packages first, see: [Ubuntu] Installing OOo on Debian and Co.
If you want to have both AOO and LibO, you can but you have to install LibO with the packages from their website.

I've done this so many times I do it automatically, and can't remember the exact details. I use Synaptic to remove the LibreOffice package; as far as I remember it is sufficient to remove libreoffice-core, which pulls all the other significant packages out with it.

Thank you again. I'm sure I removed LibreOffice back at the beginning of this task but it somehow got back. Synaptic complete removal of libreoffice-core was sufficient.
