[Solved] Added new fonts... Now get this...

Post by pooky2483 »

I added a load of new fonts a while back and I dont know how to change the 'default' font style used my LO.
It also affects new Spreadsheets that I open as it uses the same annoying font and I dont know how to change it.
I dont know if it's affected anything else, I know it's not changed LO Word ad theyre the 2 I use the most.

In Tools>Options>OOo>View, make sure the Use system font is checked.

Else, reset your OOo user profile.

Please add '[Solved]' at the beginning of your first post title (edit button) if your issue has been fixed.

Have you restarted your computer since installing the extra fonts?

Ah, remember that problem under Ubuntu. Try to change the font in the system configuration. Do you use Gnome or Unity?

Not exactly sure where/what that is as I'm fairly new to Ubuntu, being a Windows convert I'm still finding my way round. (sorry)

Have you read the other topics linked?
In one of them you can find for example: "System>>Preferences>>Look and Feel>>Appearance. Then click on the fonts tab."
That's a rather basic operation when you customize your desktop.

On my Ubuntu 11.04 it is /System /Preference /Appearance : Fonts tab.

I'm using Ubuntu Classic (no effects), so you may have to search a bit for it.

Perhaps there was a problem with the font name, confusing Gnome. Did this font apply in other applications too?

If the font is showing up in the Help file, there was some time ago a resolution posted for a Mac, where the Help file font was somehow connected with HTML, web or Java options. I'm sorry that I cannot remember or find more specific information. Perhaps this will ring a bell in someone else's mind.

It was Unreadable Help text in 3.3.0 (the January 2012 post by B Marcelly). In that case the difficulty was that the zoom factor was very small, but perhaps changing other aspects of the HTML font (like it's name) will affect the Help text as well.
