Please read the Survival Guide for the forum. use the Issue tracked for such request.

Possibly the feature is already there. What is it?

This is the Picture toolbar from MS Office.
1st red pointed icon is to crop pictures.
2nd red pointed icon is to make a color (fully) transparent.
Blue pointed icon is to compress pictures.

Transparency tool is better in OOo: in Impress or Draw, go to Tools>Eyedropper. The 2 other features have bee widely discussed here, you should use the search engine LJ_exe.

Even if this user-to-user forum were the place to make requests like that, it's the quality assurance and dev teams who prioritize requests, decide whether they can be done, and decide by when they can be done. They're not just sitting around waiting for someone to make a request, they're extremely busy.

Even if these were new features and were going to be worked on, adding them would take considerable time and testing, LJ_exe, so "2.5" would not have been a realistic expectation.

Have you seen the Draw user guide? That might help you find the functions you're looking for. There's a link to PDF files in my signature below, but these are English versions only. I'm not sure any more where to find them in other languages, but it's possible there might be one in yours.
Cheers!

The interactive crop feature is in the OpenOffice.org 3.0 development snapshot, and you can try it now. Please test it for bugs.
