[Solved] LibreOffice Draw - 'PDF Import' Extension?

Post by 2CV67oo »

This page (http://www.libreoffice.org/features/extensions/) on the LibreOffice site, seems to suggest that the 'PDF Import' Extension is already included in LibreOffice 3.3.

I am running LibreOffice 3.3.4 OOO330m19 (Build:401) in Ubuntu 11.04 & I can't find any trace of PDF Import.

Is it included?
How do I find/activate/use it?

Sorry if this is a dumb question - I really did spend a long time searching before posting this!

$ sudo apt-get install libreoffice-pdfimport

Or Synaptic or, on newer versions of Ubuntu, Software-Center.

LibreOffice 7.x.x on Arch and Fedora.

Thanks Robert!
I would never have thought of looking there for an extension, especially as all the other links I found said it was already included & I am used to getting extensions for Firefox etc from inside the application & LibO does have an "Extension Manager"...

Having easily installed it via SynApt & checked in Extension Manager that it was really there, the next problem was to find how to get it to "Import" something.
No menu item mentions Import...
Finally (http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/five-a ... -users/593) I found you need to "Open" the PDF document.
This guy also recommends "Exporting as PDF" rather than "Saving" the result.

Lots of counter-intuitive stuff there, I include for any other dummies following in my footsteps!

Problem [SOLVED] anyway - thanks again, Robert!
