The spacing is inconsistent. Take this for example:
They're both supposed to be under the same settings...but the line spacing is clearly different.
I'd like to make the line spacing for the whole document like the first one but too often it keeps coming out like the second but for some reason some of the text I typed in before (using a previous font) comes out like that.
Any thing to explain this and how I can decrease the line spacing even more than what the setting is on Single (the second apparently is supposed to be single, but I want it to be smaller than that.)

Are you using paragraph style sheets? Absolutely essential for maintaining consistency throughout the document.

Hello, Try Format -> Paragraph, and then in the Indents & Spacing tab, down below you will find a Line Spacing Drop-down selection box, change the default to 'Fixed' and then on the right-hand side another selection box will be activated to custom select the line spacing, Good Luck !adastra7 wrote:The spacing is inconsistent.

Hmm, I'm not so sure that the problem shown in your screen capture is a line spacing problem. It looks like a paragraph formatting problem to me. Your paragraphs are probably a mixture of different styles, or maybe a mixture of different direct formattings.
Select all the text, then Format > Paragraph > Indents & Spacing and set Spacing > Above and Below to zero (the entry field should show "0"), then OK.
You can also set the line spacing there, if you like. I would set it to "Single" unless you know you want something else.

So this happened to me and it had nothing to do with changing line spacing.
Right on the page with your documant you are working on. In the upper left corner youll see a drop down box that has choices such as Heading 1, 2 or 3, or Default. Make sure it on "Default" , that should switch it back to regular spacing - Youre welcome.
