[Solved] Tables: unwanted page breaks

Post by marielasf »

We are curriculum developers for a k-12 school district in Redwood City, CA and we're using open office writer (tables) to put together a new curriculum for next school year. We are having a hard time with one table: there's an unwanted page break in the middle of it and we can't get rid of it. I tried different suggestions previously posted on the forum but nothing seems to work (unchecking allow tables to split across pages/allow rows to break across pages & columns/keep with next paragraph, etc).
We need to start printing this document out for distribution as soon as possible (we are giving a presentation to teachers and principals on Monday) and I don't know how to fix the page break :(

Please find attached a copy of the document (Intermediate-S & S-6-8). Could you please take a look and tell me what to do?
Thanks a million

Place your cursor in the cell just above the brake. If the Table tool bar is not showing, click View> Toobars> Table turn it on. Near the right end of the tool bar is an icon, looks like a control panel, hover over says Table Properties, click it. On the Text Flow tab check the Keep with next paragraph box.

It works here. Nothing at this time as I have time I will see what else I can come up with.

Works fine for me also. I changed the last row height to optimal and it worked after saving the file.

I've received your PM but I avoid such direct support. If the public board is not enough, it means that the instructions have not been clear enough.

So instead of merely fixing your file, here is the detailed description:
  • Left click in the left margin of the last page, the 2 columns at left should be highlighted
  • Right click and select Row>Optimal height
  • In the right column, delete all the spaces that are above the page information
  • Once the text on the previous page, the last page should disappear.
