MSAccess 2000 database for VFW membership has Medals, Areas(WWI,etc), PersonalInfo(2000 people), Offices held, burial location, etc. When opening with open office each table only shows the first record in it replicated - ie 1st medal, area, name, etc. I was hopeing to convert over to Open Office for VFW's that do not own MSAccess. I am running under Vista Home, directx 9.0c, 2G ram and I just downloaded and installed Openoffice so it is the latest version. Read post stating the "Import" was a link and this explained why the data was lost when I "Deleted" the bad data. An old backup got most of it back.
Is this a Vista problem or Access 2000 problem? DO I need to create a new version for OpenOffice (5 + years work with VFW quartermaster who tracked all members since post opened)

Re: Base Replicates only First Record each table
I followed the Connect to existing database and opended the MSA database. It showed in the tables area all the table names and "query/view" names. The problem is when I open a table like Area(Theater of operation) that has 2 fields Area & Area Name with 20 records in it(see below) all 20 records show up as Afghanistan. This is the same problem in all tables. The big table is personal info with 29 fields and over 2200 records linked to area, medals, burial location, offices held, etc. Could this be the cause of OOBase not being able to show the data correctly? IF so can I create a OOBase, not a link, and import this data and build a OOBase version. I want to get away from having quartermasters having to buy MSA.

For some reason OOo in your case not working well,
If you has a possibility to reach MSA export all data as csv file, and create new Base file connection to text file.
Create empty base file, open text link file next to ech other drag and drop tables into Table section of newly created file. In that case your data will be copied into new file and you can use all possibilities of Base.

Re: Base Replicates only First Record each table
I'll try that. I know I exported the personalinfo table and expected to load it into calc but that was when it just hung there.
What I will try also it to uninstall OO and then reinstall it with setting on installer for xp compatability. This has worked at times with vista to get around programs having problems installing that made before vista came available.

Re: Base Replicates only First Record each table
Deleted OO. Set OO install to XP svp2 compatiable and reinstalled. I then re-ran the base program and loaded my MSA database and the files opened correctly. I may have been the original install with the multiple updates and loads of java modules and other needed files that were now on my vista machine or the setting of compatiability mode but it now apears to work. I will try to read up on how to copy the file structures over so I have a pure base database and work on producing 1 MSA and 1 Base program. Thanks for the help.
Also how do I set to Post to completed? Nevermind, did a search on solved.
