[Solved] Weird formulas !

When i write the formulas and convert them into formulas i get weird characters as the following :
f(x) = 5x^3 + sqrt {4}
gives me the attachment.
I didn't change any settings, it used to work before. I opened an older document with formulas that was good and now they are showing like this. What's the problem ? how to solve this ?

EDIT : i already posted a preview pic of what i'm getting and i'm using .odt, i can't attach a document example the max size is 128 kb. Look at the formulas ...

I changed the font it didn't work. How can it be a font problem, the old document still has the same font and the formulas are appearing weird. I'm using times new roman ... plz help !
And no i think it's better here bcz i'm using writer not math ... besides math disappeared, is it called formula now ?!

I think: This formula is inherited from an MS documentum (see styles window: "WW-standard")

When I opened the file that was seen:

Then I clicked on the formula (but not changed anything) and when leaved the edit mode, that was seen:

Math is the formula module of OOo. If you are writing a formula with the built-in tools then you are using Math.

This should be listed under Math, since this is the module that the issue is with. Whether one particular document you experienced this issue with happens to be embedded in another document of a different type is irrelevant.

i found something, look at the attachment, the weird character says "private use" !

Seems similar to that one: [Solved] Bullet Point Characters Incorrect. Problem was with the file format used by MS Office on Mac IIRC.

I did NOT import anything !! i just type the formula, click the shortcut i made of Insert>Object>formula and get my handicap formula !! it used to work the last time i opened OpenOffice but today it just randomly fucked up ! i didn't change anything, no update nothing !!

This is solved, it randomly got back to normal the next day, the update is not even done it's on 51% ! weird as i said !
