What is OOo Associator?

What is it and do I need it? I ran accros it when checking th Add/Remove program - it was listed just above it.

Never heard of it and Google gave quite nothing. It's not part of OOo for sure.

I DID a search and did not find anything appropriate to answer my question. Would it be too difficult to merely TELL ME if I can delete OOo Associator?

If you know how to change file associations in Windows XP, then you don't need it.
