Inserting data into report

Post by jimdwest »

I have built a report, that looks live at a DBF database. I see the Report form as I built it, and I can see the DBF file above (in another pane.) But I cannot get the data to merge into the report. I did it once, but by accident and have no idea what I did. That report can be seen at http://www.indianamilitary.org/28TH/Ros ... PDF-11.pdf

That works but poor design. In trying to do the column names and format better, I have what I want, but as mentioned can't get the data into the Report. End goal is a PDF file. Trying my very smallest DBFs now, but the others that I will want to change over have upwards of 30,000 records.

I've tried all the dropdown menus, and all the icons.

Thanks

Where do the data come from? Do they come from a query and the report never reflects any changes you made in the query?
Then you have to tweak your report around this issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=98163

The data is an old Lotus Approach DBF. It imports that data just fine. I made a small change in Approach and did see the change occur in OpenOffice. The problem I am having, is "merging" the Report form with the data. I see the data and I see the form of the Report, but I can't get them together. I know there is a simple fix, but no idea what it is. As I mentioned, I accidently got it all to merge on the database in the link above. All I need to do is to do that accident again.

Create a new report which should work as long as you don't modify the structure of the source table.
