[Solved] Spell checking

Post by Huntonp »

I've just begun using OOo 2.3, having used a previous version successfully. I am running on Windows Vista, and want to know how to set up spell check, as at present the system does not recognise deliberate mis-spellings. I had this problem with the previous version but cannot remember how it was resolved.

Thanks to all - this problem is SOLVED

From the start page http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/forum/index.php you get easily to a special forum for tutorials including a sub-forum for tutorials related to Writer http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/ ... m.php?f=71 where you find this one:

<nitpicking>Spell checking is not restricted to Writer</nitpicking>

When I access this tutorial it says the site is under construction. I think the dictionaries are installed but I need help to activate the spellcheck function.
Thanks

Call Menu:Tools>Options... Languages>Language Settings
and pick your preferred default language for new documents. A little ABC✓ check mark in front of the language indicates an installed dictionary for that language.

I've removed that warning. I've to wait a while before updating the thread. But basically all the information are available and you should be able to make it work.

Thanks to add '[Solved]' in your first post title (edit button) if your issue has been fixed.
