Text Import while opening .xls file

Dear Friends,

1) When i am opening some excel files using open office i got the following error,
TEXT to import if you press ok it will open some thing about mime version 1.0 and all ASCII related things will open.
If require i will give you the sample file.

2) I think this file was exported from SAP.

3) Is it not possible to open the excel files which are exported from SAP.

Please give tips also, all suggestions are welcome.

It sounds like this may not be a true .xls file. Can you attach a sample in your next post? See http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/ ... =74&t=8289 for instructions.

A quick Google suggests that SAP may output a CSV file if there are no Active-X controls available/permitted on the generating computer.
