Drag & drop multiple pics in writer

Post by vobla »

Hi all,
I was using OO2.1. I needed to add loads of pics into my doc (OO Writer), so I thought I could just drag&drop it directly to my doc. After doing that, I saw pic "slideshow" which ended on a last pic. I thought it's normal, couse its processing and after a while I'll be able to scroll over loads of new pages created. Istead I got one pic and no new pages. So when I sroll up/down the page, I see the same "slideshow" (ending on one of the pics) of all the pics I dropped ;)
Then I noticed new version is available. Installed it and tryed again. On OO2.3.1 it ran much slower and I haven't seen any "slideshow" or anything like that, just the last pic. Again no new pages were created. In this version it freezes when I try to scroll.
It's obviously something wrong with drag&drop object recognition..
It would be great to be able to drag&drop any amount of pics on the doc. Breaks in between should be created of course ;)

Anyway, just wanted to post something I found and wasn't really sure it's the right place, couse I just registered, so sorry if it's not.. :)

Oh, and yes, I use:
OO2.3.1;
M$ win xp pro.

Ha! One of my favorite topics.

I think if you look at your document, you'll find that all the images you dragged in are all there. Open the Navigator (F5) and look under the "Graphics" category.

What Writer does in this case, is to drop every one of the images exactly on top of one another, so that only one (the top one) is visible.

Your only choice is to cut/paste (or drag) the images to move them to separate pages.

You can get what you want if the anchoring of the pics is set to As character, see that thread: [solved-ish] Insert->picture->from file.

Thanks to add '[Solved]' in your first post title (edit button) if your issue has been fixed.

You may find that, doing it as you do, the images are piled one on top of the other. To see that, select the one you see and drag it around to expose the next.
