Gantt Chart Help

I've created a very simple Gantt chart to help us visualize projects for this year. Included in the original data is the resource impact on our department (Low Medium or High). I have one problem and something else I need help with. First, the problem. I have formatted the start times in the Gantt chart to have no color and complete transparency in the fill and the borders, yet the borders still show up in the chart. Is there a way to get rid of them completely?

Now, for the other item i need help with. I would like to setup some kind of conditional formatting in the chart for the end date. Is there a way to force a color change of the bars based on the Resource Impact? In other words, when the resource impact of a project is high, I would like the bar in the graph to be red, when medium -- orange, when low -- green. Is there a way to do that?

I figured out the problem with the borders (my own dumb fault) but I still would like some input on the conditional formatting of the chart.

Did you look at Format > Conditional Formatting?

A search here should get you several relevant threads and sample documents.

Unless the "impact" of a project changes frequently, I can't see any need to use conditional formatting. Just create a cell style with the color you want for each impact category and apply the appropriate style to each bar. You will have to create the styles anyway if you want to use conditional formatting, and it will take less time to simply apply the styles manually than it will to set up conditions and formulas to do it automatically,
