I sent a document,saved as an opt, to my daughter. I have a pc she has a MAC. She was not able to open the file. I have tried to save other ways and it gets saved as a wordpad when it is reopened. then I tried to cut and paste, this worked except when she emailed back and I tried to cut/paste on to a new page and then it puts it into table format and not all gets pasted. help please

What software does your daughter have for opening text documents? Does your document have any images?
The .doc standard is fairly prevalent. If your daughter can open .doc documents, save your document in that form.

Thanks for the help. I sent another to my daughter under a Microsoft word doc and she can open those.
