Mathtype problem

Post by Computer Acolyte »

Some of my Mathtype equations don't appear correctly in OpenOffice Writer. For example: the 'therefore' symbol doesn't show, or I tried to write N is a subset of Z, and the 'subset of' symbol got pushed over the Z. How do I fix this?
I run Windows Vista and use Open Office 2.3.1 and Mathtype 6.

Please read the Survival guide for the forum first. People can often only help you if you tell what version of OOo you use. OO 2 is just not accurate enough. 8-)

Related problems with MathType are discussed here.

Here's a screenshot of what happens in OO.
I even tried to revert to Mathtype 5.2, and re install its fonts, nada.

Is this still not enough info? Tell me, because I really need this fixed, it's really jamming up my writing.

I'm not a MathType specialist - I've worked with it in the past, but I don't have it installed at present. There are problems with MathType in OOo - just search the threads about it on the old forum: http://www.oooforum.org/forum/viewforum.phtml?f=2. I was in some hopes that the MT specialists would step in here. But so far, no luck.
