Can OO play sound?

Hi, I'm new. Excuse my ignorance, please. Sometimes I get a .pps file with sound. Can Open Office play the sound?

Possibly. OOo is very shaky when it comes to multimedia.

Have you checked the Impress Guide for general instructions?
