[Solved] Printing a word doc only partial

I operate Windows XP Home, SP2, and Open Office 2.3.1 I routinely print materials with no problems but this has me stumped.

I created a 4" x 6" card in .doc format to pin up on notice boards. It is in landscape format. At the top I inserted a three column, single row table. On the left and right side cells of the table I inserted clip art in .jpg format. In the centre cell I inserted title text. Beneath the table for the remaining three quarters of the card I entered text. In the page format settings I have left and right margins of 0.46", and top and bottom margins of 0.25".

When I select the print function, I configure the printer for 4" x 6" output in landscape format, black and white print. Here's the problem. When I print to a 4" x6" card all that prints is one of the .jpg clip art pictures in the right hand cell. I am not printing a selection only but a print all. Any ideas, please?

Buddyboy, just so you're aware, this forum was developed and launched by members of the other forum (oooforum) where you posted the same question, so it's highly likely that the same people are going to read the question in both places. This forum is the new one, and the old forum is less active because a lot of regulars no longer monitor or respond there, so perhaps you'd just want to watch for answers here?

This forum is also easier to use because you can post samples directly instead of having to upload to Mediafire, as I requested in reply to your post on the other forum. I also asked what printer model you have.

Thanks Fox, and I am sorry for that. I am sure you have heard it before but I was totally unaware that there was an old forum and a new one. I just spent the last hour and a half trying to figure out how to respond to you, wondering where my first post went to, and now I find it. I will put a note on the old forum to close off my thread there.

My printer is a Hewlett Packard PSC750 and seems to otherwise function well. I would send you a copy of the document involved but I don't see a way to do this from here and the link you posted did not work. I will have a read of the guidelines to see if I can do that.

No problem! I was pretty sure that was the case.

The posting method can be difficult to see, especially because it's below the message edit window. In my browser, I have tabs and toolbars enough that I sometimes have to scroll down to see it. Below the Save, Preview and Submit buttons you'll see two tabs, "Options" and "Upload attachment". The Upload tab is self-explanatory, I think.

Found it. Here is the document, attached.

It prints beautifully on my HP DeskJet 840C and on a variety of networked printers here (various Sharp and Lexmark models).

The only thing I can suggest is downloading and installing a fresh or updated copy of your printer driver.

Thanks again for your help re this. I did an uninstall and reinstall on my printer, downloading the driver from the HP web site. It now prints the problematic document, and others, perfectly. So, in the end, the problem was likely a corrupted driver.
