Formatting Fonts Are Only Partial

Post by DeboraL »

I posted yesterday about my fonts would not format into times new roman, but I found that only certain paragraphs, when I click on default, will go to times new roman. Can you please help me ...my paper is due tomorrow an I just cannot retype it again.

Thanks

BTW I downloaded to new openoffice

Put the cursor in the paragraph that's not using Times New Roman (TNR). Look in the style box at the left of the formatting toolbar: does it show "Default" as the paragraph style? If not, select "Default" from that drop down list to apply that style to the paragraph. If you've modified the style named "Default" to use TNR, and used Format > Default on the paragraph, then the paragraph should be set as TNR.

I'm not sure what that means. Writer may use a font of it's own choice (e.g. bullets or other symbols), so if you select everything, it may well include more than pure TNR.

You can select everything and use Format > Default, but that will remove any character formatting (e.g. italic or bold).

You can try applying the "Default" style to the paragraphs that are in the wrong font. That should not change any character formatting in the paragraph.

If you want to attach the document, or email it to me, that would simplify debugging the problem. There's an email address under "Interests" in my profile.
