Lable sync

When using the label template etc to form a mail merge of data I have encountered the following problems:-
The sync label covers up information in the left hand corner. I moved it with mouse but the application crashed.
On reading a couple of tutorials there appears to be some work rounds to establish the syncronisation of the labels after creating the first one.
When I first went to the package some elements were greyed out.

Does anyone know if these problems are common or do I have a rogue application.

Moving the Synchronize button has never caused a crash for me through many version of OOo on Win 98 or Windows 2000. My current version is 2.3.1.

So, yes, we do need your version and OS.
