I am a longtime WP user wanting to go to OO. However WP has a page layout feature that allows to click on subdivide page, change to landscape, then a "print as booklet" feature in print dialogue that then allows a duplex printer to automatically collate and print a booklet. How can you do this in open office?

Look under File > Print > Options > Brochure. That will print the pages "two-up" and re-arrange them to print in the right order for a folded booklet. Duplexing is set under Printer > Properties (or maybe Settings?).
