Why are all the words underlined for spell checking?

I opened OpenOffice only to find that most of the words are now underlined for spell correcting. I right click on any random one and there is no correction for spelling in the dropdown.
How can I fix this????

Try selecting /Tools /Language /For all text and selecting the language in which you are writing. If there are multiple variations offered for the main language, you should select the exact variation.
If that does not work, come back for further help.
