OpenOffice Not opening while connected to a VPN

Hello, I am using OpenOffice version 4.1.6 it's working fine but whenever I connect to a VPN it's not opening, I am using PureVPN on ubuntu and have set it up by using this guide: https://www.purevpn.com/download/linux-vpn

What kind of document did you try to open?

And the VPN connection fails to open when OpenOffice is running? Are you by any chance running OpenOffice in listening mode using the same port number as the VPN tunnel?
