Object Won't Disappear When Clicked

I have a slide with more than a handful of text boxes that I've designated custom animation for. The text boxes are filled with one letter each, Futura font, size 60. I've picked custom animation for each text box so when it is clicked, the text box disappears. There is one text box that even when I've designated it and redesignated it with an animation, the text box won't disappear. Every other text box does what it is told to do.

I've restarted the program numerous times, tried different fonts, different sizes. Upon further inspection, I can see minute pixel movement when the text box is clicked to activate animation but in the large scale of things, nothing disappears like its supposed to.

Does anyone know anything? I've even deleted OpenOffice and re-installed. Still same problem. Any help would be appreciated

OpenOffice 4 on Mac OS X
Could you be more precise about your version and OS used?

Sorry about that. Wrote my signature pretty hastily.

I run OpenOffice 4.1.3- Mac OS X El Capitan Version 10.11.6

A possible workaround: highlight a correctly working textbox, Copy it, Paste it in position of the nonworking text box; change the letter to the correct one, and see if that works. You may have to confirm that the custom animation settings are correct.

The custom animation settings are correct; the copy-paste scenario does not work.

Well, provide a sample document to understand what you means.
