[Solved] Does OpenOffice support editing MS Office documents

Postby Renalto » Wed Oct 09, 2019 9:22 pm

Hello,

I'm new here. I am using microsoft office on a daily basis for my study. And, before downloading and installing openoffice on my Windows 10 64 bit laptop, can i know if it will support opening and editing ms office word and powerpoint documents? .. Meanwhile, I'm using Microsoft Office for my studying purposes.

It supports the older MS formats reasonable well; it can open the Ms .nnnx formats but not save to them. As OO will be using non native formats there can and will be formatting problems. If you are studying and not a computer guru, get MS Office and make life easy for yourself.
Apache OpenOffice 4.1.8 on Xubuntu 20.04.1 (mostly 64 bit version) and very infrequently on Win2K/XP
