Form Controls

Post by dbissonn »

I created multiple option buttons using the same name. After exiting Form Control Design Mode, I select one option, save the file, and exit the application. However, the chosen option is not selected upon loading the saved file. It should open with the chosen option as being still selected. My macro security is set to low. Any ideas why the chosen option will not be saved between new application sessions?

Thanks.

I believe you have to specify which option in the group is to be on by default, by a setting on the controls themselves, not by operating the controls. I.e. you have to enter "Form Design" mode, then right-click the option control and find the correct property to set. It's been a while, but I think that approach will work.

Hi,

Thank you for taking the time to reply. Yes, the Form Wizard offers the choice of which option is on by default. I pick one, finish the Wizard, save the file, close it, and then re-open the file, yet no choice is selected.

The Wizard does not specify me to identify a location where to save the choice, it must intend on saving the selection within the control and thus the document itself. I know that other controls, e.g. lists, require a data source to be specified, but not this one.

I am thinking it could be one of three things: 1) There is a bug; 2) An application option needs to be set (but, I cannot find one in the app); 3) I am missing some sort of component, file, etc needed to run controls.

Thoughts?

Thanks again.
