Writer opens calc object as read only
I have a writer doc that has an embedded spreadsheet object. I open the doc and double click to add data to the spreadsheet and I receive a "file is a read only" msg. It works in MS Office but not in OpenOffice. Can any one direct me through fixing this?

Check the toolbar for the "Edit File" button.
In OOo 3.x it is between the "Document as Email" and "Export Directly as PDF" buttons.
This toggles editing of files.

Is the embedded spreadsheet a Calc document or an Excel document?
What file format is the document saved in?
