how can I open powerpoint in open office?

The MS Power Point file will open using OO. However, the sound doesn't!
Any way I can play old PP files using Open Office?

Download the free PowertPoint viewer from the Microsoft site.

... or you can try the LibreOffice. It has more compatibility with the foreign, non-standard file formats - like the binary .ppt format.
