Hi there,
I hope someone can help.. I created a document, printed out a pdf version but when I went back to find it a message came up that it doesn't exist. The document name comes up under the Recent Files menu but when I click on it the message appears. The same message appears when I click on an earlier document as well. These are the only 2 documents created since I downloaded this version a few weeks ago. I don't know if I've done something wrong with the download process … Any advice appreciated.
Cheers,
Carol

Re: Files don't exist ...
Hi and welcome to the forum!
Are you sure that the files were not mail attachments?
If they was opened from the mail directly, then the file was first stored in a temporary folder and then deleted once the file closed.

Re: Files don't exist ...
Hi Hagar and thanks for responding.
No, they weren't attachments. I created them and saved them to my desktop. One is an invoice I need to email to a client. I printed out a pdf version of it but didn't save it as a pdf. Then when I went to open the odt. file This is the message:

You should try a system search just in case it's somewhere else. But files _don't_delete themselves except in the case Hagar mentioned.

Re: Files don't exist ...
Found it! I downloaded Open Office again then control clicked and the files were listed in that menu - and I was able to access it. Still don't know why Spotlight couldn't find them …. Anyway, problem solved.
Thanks for your help.
