I recently had a major computer problem and had to reinstall a lot of applications that worked fine before the incident. Including Open Office. I have tried several times to install 3.4.1 and once with 3.2, uninstalling with "program remove" in Control Panel between each attempt. With 3.4.1, I get a run time error during the installation, which then seems to complete. However, in trying to open the program, I get an error message. With 3.2, OO appears to install but I get a different error code when I attempt to start it.
My machine is a home built with an AMD Athlon 64 dual cpu running at 2 gHz, 1 gb memory, win xp home edition, sp3.
Any ideas why I can't successfully load and run the program?
