Hopefully never ever. Apart from usability problems it is a minefield of Microsoft patent claims.

There are no plans for ribbons, but OpenOffice.org 2 already had contextual toolbars.

I hope never. On the CeBit 2007 a Microsoft guy explained me the new interface for over half an hour until I stopped him by asking for the price. That was enough for me to start using OpenOffice and never using MS Office again. So, thanks to Microsoft. ;)

I agree. I don't like the 2007 UI, so IMO it would be a step in the wrong direction.
