Is there an easy way to enter an address in a letter so that it shows in an envelope window?

Re: address
You have to work out where the address needs to be on the sheet, depending on the size of the envelope, the size of the paper and how it needs to be folded and the size and location of the window in the envelope.
Once you know that you can easily set up a document template within OOo to always have the address in the correct place.
One way is to fold a sheet of the paper in the way you will fold it in the future, put it in an envelope with the transparent window removed, and draw round the edge of the window onto the paper.
Unfold the sheet and you know where you need to have the address go on the page.

Re: Get letter address lined up with envelope window
I would only add to TheGurkha's advice that it I have found it helps to create a text frame slightly smaller than the window of the envelope inside of which you type the name and address lines. It is relatively easy to move the text frame to a precise position on the page: the contained address text lines always move with the frame. Make sure the text frame is set to have no border so that only the address text lines appear in the final print.
When this issue has been resolved, it would help other users of the forum if you add the word - [Solved] - to the Subject line of your 1st post (edit button top right).

Different type of answer.
Leave the dialog up but scroll down to the letter and place your cursor at the position where you want to type the address. In the dialog select Input Field, click Insert, tap the spacebar twice and click OK. Close the dialog.
When you hover your cursor over the field in the letter it will change to a finger, click, fill in the address and click OK. Note that the address appears both places.
Now, if you save this type of file as a template, you will be prompted for the address when you create a new file from the template.
Open a new Write document, do Insert > Envelope > Insert, clear anything in the addressee frame out of it and put your cursor in the home position in the frame. Do Crtl+F2 > Variable tab and select User Field, name it, make sure Format is set to Text and click Insert.enter an address in a letter so that it shows in an envelope window?
