The Happy Birthday thread

Post by Hagar Delest »

Happy Birthday to the forum!

2 years right now and more than 25,000 members! Roughly twice last year figures so the registering rate is quite steady.

Except the hot discussion about the Renaissance project, there has been no issue (regarding trolls, moderation, ...). Dave has left the forum however.

Thanks to TerryE, the forum keeps being up to date software point of view.

Champers, I think. Several virtual bottles of the Widow!

Don't mention cake or you'll have Hagar quoting Marie Antoinette "qu'ils mangent du brioche".

3 years and more than 36,000 members.

A very calm year. Very few outage IIRC. No trolls. A surge of spam end of the summer (but has ceased it seems).

Most noticeable event is the LibO fork.

That's it. Anyone planning a birthday party?

5 years and more than 51,000 members (removing all the spam accounts).

Almost one year in the Apache project and things run rather smoothly (except spam that has increased the mods work, but that's another story).

I'd like to thank our Volunteers who keep supporting users very professionally, keeping such a welcoming place. And earning the respect of the Apache guys.

Congratulations!

Is this maybe worth a blog post?

Ah, sorry, have resigned from committer role.
Maybe someone else feels the courage to do it.

If you (or anyone else) wants to provide a draft, I'll provide the courage. 5 years is good news and story worth telling.
