Linking Tables

Post by Fndmyangel »

I just bought a new computer, and decided to try out Open Office rather than to spend the money for Office Professional ;) I had two existing databases in Access 97. I loaded the first into OO, and other than losing all my queries and macros, seemed to go ok. I can reconstruct those if I have to do it. :( Biggest issue I have though is that I had two tables linked to this database from another Access 97 database. Try as I might, I haven't been able to find a way to link external tables in Base. Is there a way to do this? Or do I need to find another work around?

Thanks,

Kevin

There is no workaround. Base connects to the database through some database driver from Microsoft (JET). The driver "answers" all requests for data asked from any suitable frontent app. It is the same game as when you connect Access with MySQL or something else.
