[Solved] Downloaded OOo, Only Writer shows - NO Calc

Post by stefanofavero »

Downloaded OOo for Mac.
When I launch it, it automatically opens Word; where can I find Calc and all the other apps?
Thanks
Edit: I tag the thread as Solved because it's a classic issue for Mac users. (Won't wait for the author feedback). Also changed the title, replaced "Word" by "Writer" and "XL" by "Calc"

File > New > Spreadsheet

All the OOo applications are bundled together, they simply appear in different windows. You can open any OOo application or document from any OOo application or document window.

You can also set up desktop launchers to go directly into a spreadsheet, if that is what you need most often.

Which version of OpenOffice.org ? Did you download an X11 version (i.e. one that requires an X11 environment to function) or an Aqua version (which are still under test) ?

If you go to the File > New menu, you will see that you can actually open or create any of the other document types that are part of the modules of OOo.
