ODBC - Informix

Post by harryvk1@comcast.net »

Currently I use Excel, Crystal Reports & Filemker Pro to produce custom reports from our Informix server using ODBC as the data source connection. I want to move to using Open Office but can't get the ODBC connection to work. I went through the procedure in BASE to set up and register the database and everything seemed to work when I tested the connection. But when I open BASE to view the tables they don't show. I had no trouble setting up Excel, Cyrstal Reports, or Filemaker Pro to work with the Informix ODBC client. Has anybody faced a similar situation and/or has informatin to help.

I have exactly the same problem. The only difference is that I tested the ODBC with WinSQL and by linking tables into an mdb database.

When I open OOo Base the tables do not show. I can write SQL statements that work fine. I can also create a new table and it appears in the list of tables, but only until I switch to viewing something else. When I switch back to viewing the tables even the new table is gone.
