Re: Base Form Shortcut/Macro
It is said there are no stupid question, but there are stupid answers, and "Are you kidding" isn't a smart answer.
I'd also like to know how to do this, so as data comes in by Email I can pop up the form and fill it in quickly. I tried a drag and drop, but that didn't work. I suspect the form is treated as part of a larger document and does not have a discrete file address that the shortcut could point to, but I'd be glad to be wrong.

Re: Base Form Shortcut/Macro
Quick method without any macros:
Create a new form from scratch [1] in any document (Writer, Calc, even Impress can have forms) or if you already have a form embedded in the respective database, save it as an independent document. In the latter case you've got to reconnect the form to the database document. Hit the [...] button in the form's data-properties or enter a datasource name if the database is a registered one. Finally, you may withdraw all write privileges from the file in order to protect the form design. The stand-alone form will be a normal Writer document sharing the initial position and size with all the other Writer documents. The embedded forms store view settings for each form seperately.
