OpenOffice 4.1.16's SpellCheck doesn't work

Hello, there! I have Windows 11 on my laptop computer, and I also have the latest version of OpenOffice: 4.1.16. I love OpenOffice. I have used it to write things for years. I got a new laptop some months back, and I put OpenOffice on it. After all, I love OpenOffice and it's been a great substitute for Microsoft Word. Since then though, the Writer's spell-checker puts the red squiggly lines under every word I write, even the words I KNOW I spelled correctly. I've had to shut it off ever since. I do make errors when I type on occasion, and having a malfunctioning spell-checker is a bit of a bother. Can anyone please help me fix this? I do apologize for being a bother. It's not a major problem, but having a spellchecker that knows how words are spelled would be nice.

Did you try the suggestion resetting your OpenOffice user profile?

I'm on Windows 11 with AOO 4.1.16 and can't reproduce your problem. It doesn't mark text written in correct Dutch, English and German (formatted as such).
You probably have a bad user profile, that's almost always the cause of spell check problems.

No major change since W10 I guess.
