When I try to copy .JPG images into a new Writer document I have no control to move or re arrange the .JPG.
How can I configure the Writer to have full control of placing my pictures?

Thanks

What do you mean as "full control"? Do you want to automatize the settings/properties of the position, the achor, the size, the transparency, the frame, the caption, the text wrap, ...etc. by one "click"?

Try to write your own "image import" macro...

When I right ciick on an inserted jpg I get a context (pop-up) menu; on that menu, if I select "Picture", on the "Type" tab I am offered coordinate positions to position that jpg image.

Anchor to Page is normally troublesome for the normal user: it anchors the picture to a given page, irrespective of the text flow. It is similar to a form of anchoring in older DeskTop Publishing programs.
